Chiropractic Care has been around since 1895, and treats the cause of the pain rather than hide the symptoms like many medications used today.

  • Some people continue to be skeptical about Chiropractic Care; however, this treatment has proven to change the lives of millions of people.
  • For example, Chiropractic Care is now a necessity for players in the NFL. All 32 Professional Football teams have chiropractors on staff and there has been a huge difference in the health of these players.
  • Jerry Rice, who is a 2010 Hall of Fame inductee, stated, “I did a lot of things to stay in the game, but regular visits to my chiropractor made all the difference.” This shows how important chiropractic care is for any individual.

  • Another player who swears by Chiropractic Care is Reggie Bush. He stated that Chiropractic Care was as important to him as staying on top of his game and being healthy. Bush has been treating since high school, and continues to do so.
  • Football is a full contact sport, where many injuries occur, and that is why a Chiropractor is a necessity to have on staff. Professional Football players are mostly treated for neuromusculoskeletal strain injuries. Some examples of neuromusculoskeletal injuries include whiplash injuries, low back pain, neck pain, and hamstring and quadriceps strains. The Professional Football Chiropractic Society said that on average, the Team Chiropractor gives about thirty to fifty adjustments per week.
  • Some of the benefits of Chiropractic Care include: education on preventing injuries, decreased or elimination of pain, non-invasive and treatment without drugs, treatment of actual injury rather than taking medication to only hide the symptoms, increased strength and stamina, and improved mobility.

How can you Stay Healthy while everyone around you gets sick…

Have you ever noticed that everyone around you seems to get sick every time the season changes? It happens four times a year, and happens every year, but we are somehow still affected. Seems odd that our bodies haven’t yet adapted to the inevitable weather changes. However, the dramatic temperature changes are surprisingly not the reason why many people experience illness during the weather transition. The reason behind these sudden sicknesses is the fact that the temperature modifications allow a dissimilar array of viruses to flourish. These new viruses are what cause people to get sick. Therefore, we must take precautions to avoid getting that quarterly sickness that many people unfortunately experience.

Here is a list of the top ten things to do to stay healthy this fall:

  1. Wash your hands. This has to be the most important step if you want to avoid getting sick.
  2. Do not share. When you share beverages, food, snacks, or even personal items: you are also sharing germs and any sickness any other person may have.
  3. Clean. Kill the bacteria that is lingering, and waiting to contaminate its next victim.
  4. Sleep. Sleeping is one of the most overlooked necessities. Many studies have proven the negative side effects of not sleeping enough; therefore, make sure to go to bed early and get your recommended hours of rest daily.
  5. Maintain a healthy gut, which will happen by choosing to eat better. Did you know that 80% of your immune system is in your digestive system? Not many people do. This means that having a healthy gut is vital for any human to maintain optimal health and remain well. That is why every individual must find ways to incorporate fruits and vegetables on a DAILY basis.
  6. Increase your Vitamin C intake: That orange juice will definitely boost your immune system. However, stay away from juices that are full of sugar, as it limits the nutritional value consumed. Make sure to read the labels on your favorite orange drinks! Here are some other tasty foods that contain high amounts of Vitamin C: oranges, grapefruits, lemon, limes, strawberries, papaya, kiwis, bell peppers, guava, Brussel sprouts, cantaloupe, dark leafy greens, and tomatoes. Enjoy!
  7. Wash sheets if a sick person has been laying on them. Not washing used sheets is a quick way to catch that cold you have been avoiding.
  8. Inhale nature. This means getting some fresh air, and if you do not want to go outside and smell the roses: open a window and let the fresh air in.
  9. Work it out: Exercising can boost your immune system and help you sweat the sickness out of your system. Moderate exercise helps you not only feel better physically but mentally, which plays a very important role in feeling better as your mind affects your whole body. The only time where exercise should be avoided is when a fever is present.
  10. Most importantly: Do not forget to visit your chiropractor. Many people are unaware of how important coming in to get your spinal adjustment is. I often hear patients attempting to cancel their appointments because of waking up with a cold; however, I cannot express how important your adjustment is at this time. Getting an adjustment will boost your immune system, and will start the process of feeling better!
